Soul Punch at Soul Bar and Bistro

I was lucky enough to be invited to the Soul Bar and Bistro bimonthly event called Soul Punch. If you haven’t heard of this (just as I hadn’t) you’re missing out!

I was invited to attend Typhoon Hospitality’s table along with a couple of other bloggers and instagrammers and their plus ones.

Well what can I say about this event apart from WOW! Everything at Soul Punch was designed towards their theme for the month which was ‘winter wonderland’. From the snow and ice on arrival outside of the building, the front of house staff, to the menu and cocktails, they were all themed perfectly to depict a magical winter wonderland which was so inviting to explore.

This place is a feast for the eyes with people excelling themselves with elaborate outfits which are tailored to the events theme. Ice sculptures, fake snow, Eskimo style go-go dancers and more. There’s no end to the spectacle or indeed the amount of content you can grab for your blog and Instagram.

Everyone was treated like royalty and every attention to detail was paid. There is a 4-person style sharing menu brought to your table throughout the event and trust me when I say you will not leave this place hungry! At this particular Soul Punch we were treated to a feast of grilled curried cauliflower, a tuna and avocado dish and a toasted ciabatta for our first food drop. Followed by Rigatoni with parsnip crisps and a micro salad. Just as we thought there couldn’t possibly be more, a giant slab of lamb came our way with accompanying potatoes, kale and feta salad and salsa verde! This was all rounded off with chocolate peppermint pots. Talk about decadence.

At this point I feel I have to mention that the timing of the food was perfect. It was spaced out over the entire event so even though there was so much to indulge in and at no point are you over faced or too full to head to the dance floor and boogie away your Sunday afternoon.

Another example of the attention to detail was the cocktails and cocktail menu. They were perfectly designed to fit in with the winter wonderland theme with drinks such as mulled wine and froconut cocktails making an appearance on the list.

There is a good-sized dance floor carved out for you to work off those afternoon cocktails with a DJ and some additional musicians which was packed with people dancing throughout the entire afternoon. There was a definite party vibe outside but if you’re a little more relaxed about your weekend fun then you can sit inside, chat, enjoy your cocktails and spectate all of the incredible décor, outfits and party goers throwing some shapes on the dance floor.

My overall impressions of this event were that it exceeded everything I had expected of it and I would most definitely go again without hesitation… and next time I would totally up my wardrobe game as I felt a tad under dressed. With all the glamour of the event it is THE place to dress up and enjoy the atmosphere of a rocking Saturday night all bundled up into a Sunday afternoon. The price is $85pp and for that I feel that you get back in value so much more than the ticket price. I don’t know of any other place that you can eat, drink and party for 4 hours and spend so little so its perfect for the budget conscious Sunday brunchers.

I would certainly recommend that everyone attends Soul Punch at Soul Bar and Bistro at least once. It’s a spectacle for the eyes and a feast for the belly as well as a fabulous party all rolled into a cute little Sunday afternoon package, what’s not to love about it? I will most definitely be back!

The event itself is usually fully booked and so I would strongly advise to grab your seat early for the next Soul Punch which incidentally is NOLA themed! You need to book in tables of at least 4 people with the price per person set at $85pp including arrival flute of Mumm Grand Cordon, 4 course sharing style lunch plus cocktail tasters.  Follow this link for further booking details.

Full disclosure… I did receive my place and the place of my plus one free of charge. The opinions here are entirely mine and I have not received any monetary compensation whatsoever for this blog post.
