I had the good fortune of being invited to the launch of the new OPI Grease Collection in New Zealand. OPI teamed up with Paramount Pictures to celebrate the iconic movies 40th birthday in style with this amazing collection of beautiful shades.
I was sent the cutest invite with two 1950’s style cookies and two shades from the collection in ‘you’re the shade that I want’ which is a super cute bright pink and ‘was it all just a dream’ which is a minty turquoise colour. Both of which I totally adore.
The event itself was set in a 50’s themed bar in Auckland called Ellice Road. It was the perfect location for Frenchies nail bar which OPI had set up, so we could all get manicures on the night.
We got to preview the collection which, in my opinion is one of the cutest collections ever, my favourite shade being ‘Hopelessly devoted’ which is a gorgeous soft peach that goes together well with most of the colours in the entire collection, so you could knock yourself out creating cute 1950’s nail art.
They served us with mini burgers and champagne, which was fit for any princess frequenting a 1950’s diner along with other nibbles whilst playing suitably themed music throughout the event.
When it was time to leave, like at any great party, we were given goodie bags. Each with a shade from the collection and another fabulous cookie. The shade I received was ‘Frenchie likes to kiss’ which is a super subtle pale lavender with the tiniest amount of shimmer running through it. I totally love it and, for me, it plays a close second to the peachy tones of ‘hopelessly devoted’ which I am yet to purchase as it had sold out on line when I went to do so…
If you’re wanting to snag some of the colours from the collection yourself then you can get them online or in store at Farmers NZ. For those of you not in NZ you can grab yours here. The colours are also available in salons in gel formula alongside the regular lacquer.
Have you tried any of the shades in this collection? Let me know which are your favourites in the comments.
