When I was asked to review this product, I have to say that I was more than a little intrigued. I have reviewed candles before and I have reviewed skincare before but I never thought the two would cross over into one product!
Boy was I excited to try it. The candle arrived in super quick time and even had a little personalised message with it, which, was a nice touch. The candle I received was sandalwood and I was surprised with just how strong the perfume was, without being too overpowering either.
As most of my readers know, I have sensitive skin and so I try as much as possible to use products without any nasty chemicals and this body butter candle is no exception. You can check out ingredients on the website.
I was super excited to try it out as I had been informed that you can enjoy it as a candle alone or tip out the melted wax onto your skin as part of a massage or indeed just use it straight from the jar! As a novice, I decided to just wing it and so I burnt the candle itself for a while first. The candle gave of the scent whilst burning and my room smelt amazing.
I was apprehensive to try the wax whilst melted but I was pleasantly surprised as the melted body butter was pleasantly warm rather than hot and it sank into the skin amazingly well! At this point I was a total convert to this whole new experience.
I blew out the candle to allow it to return to a solid and I have to say, even as I am typing this blog post I am rubbing my finger over the surface of the candle and applying it to my hands. I have to say that I think the candle works better as a body butter from the jar after the first burning as there’s something about that process that has just totally brought the candle alive and made it totally irresistible to me.
Thanks Midnight Label, I can’t wait to see what other scents you have!
